International Conference"Intersections and Connections: East Asia and the World, c. 1800-1945"

Overview

The international conference "Intersection and Connection: East Asia and the World, c. 1800-1945" is an ancillary program of the General Assembly of the International Commission on History, co-organized by Teikyo University, the Japan Committee of the International Commission on History (ICHS), and the Japan Historical Council.
The purpose of this conference is to explore various aspects of the historical process of global or regional intersection and connection in East Asia from the early 19th century to the mid-20th century, and to discuss the diversity and heterogeneity of that process. Ms. Harumi Goto, Professor of the Department of International Social Sciences, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Graduate School, The University of Tokyo, will deliver a keynote speech titled "Imperialism and Internationalism in East Asia: The League of Nations' Efforts to Control Opium and Improve Community Health."
