The Faculty of Economics aims to nurture talent able to contribute to the solving of the complex problems facing today's economy and corporate management. With thorough practical learning-based education which connects students with the real world that is provided by professors with an abundance of practical experience in academics, government offices, companies, and other realms, we are striving to help students acquire a both broad-ranging perspectives and problem-solving abilities.

Educational Goals and Our Three Policies
Finding out about the movement and structures of the economy and predicting changes also constitutes a decision on our future way of living. We aim to nurture students with strengths not only when it comes to theory, but also when it comes to economics as a living field of practical learning.
We have deployed a large number of faculty members with proven track records in the field at companies and in government to develop classes which closely reflect the current social and economic situations. While drawing out the students’ own desires to learn, we are going about helping them cultivate specialized knowledge and problem-solving abilities so that we end up nurturing economics experts able to play an active role at the forefront of society.
The faculty is equipped with incredible learning environments, such as the Teikyo University Media Library Center, which boasts a collection of 750,000 books. We also provide individual guidance and consultation to each student so that they can be given meticulous support when it comes to improving their academic abilities, earning credits, their career paths, and their lives.
Most of the seminars in the Faculty of Economics are seminars which emphasize practical learning based on the themes of the current state of the Japanese economy and the actual state of corporate management. In addition to specialized knowledge of economics, students will cultivate creativity, presentation abilities, and leadership skills, and acquire the solid strength they need to flourish as a member of society.
Practical Learning-Based Education Provided by Teaching Staff With Corporate Experience
We have a large number of faculty members with an abundance of practical experience and who have been active in the front lines of various fields as part of companies, government offices, the media, and more. Their experience cultivated in the field when it comes to business and governmental administration, together with living information, are directly leveraged in the providing of instruction to students, allowing them to hone their creative skills and their sense of competition.
We have achieved high levels of teaching effectiveness through special programs such as the ECCP (The Faculty of Economics Career Challenge Program) and Five-year Integrated Undergraduate and Master's Program.
Each department in the Faculty of Economics provides qualifications and certifications required in the field of business such as bookkeeping tests, qualifications for travel industry handling managers, and TOEIC?. Also provided are education-related qualifications such as teaching licenses and librarian qualifications. These are provided to students so that they can plan for the careers they are looking to build after graduation.
Takeing advantage of the 4 years of studying economics in form of “Practical learning,” many of our graduates are now active in a variety of business fields.
Economics is a discipline involving the analytical studying of problems such as production, exchange, distribution, and consumption of goods and services from a broad perspective. Learning economics also means ascertaining the inner workings of modern political and social issues. Moreover, if we approach these problems from historical points of view, we will deepen our understanding of them to an even greater extent. We are currently seeing globalization progress rapidly, and the global economy is being greatly shaken by the movement of people, goods, money, and information across international borders. There is no doubt that stepping into the world of economics and getting an analytical picture of economic movements and their implications will be of great help to students in the future.
In addition to faculty members who have been involved in education and research, our faculty has many staff who have been engaged in work at companies and government offices. This means that we are making it possible to teach students about living economic movements in the classroom. In addition to lectures, students will be able to hear about the interesting elements of economics and hear stories about what goes on in the field in the world of business through educational gatherings involving small class sizes when it comes to life design, basic exercises, and other academic exercises. I have no doubt that students’ intellectual curiosity will grow as a result.
