Training highly specialized professionals able to respond to the changes seen in medical care
?

With the progress of science and technology, medical care has become more sophisticated and advanced, and advanced medical technology has been introduced for many diseases, with the cure rate of diseases and quality of life also seeing improvements. Meanwhile, with Japan seeing a declining birthrate and aging population, the medical structure is undergoing reform. Thus, the scope of medical care is expanding to preventive and health promotion in addition to the diagnosis and treatment of conventional diseases. In order to respond to such changes in medical care, we have established the Division of Radiological Sciences and the Division of Nursing at the Graduate School of Health Sciences of the Fukuoka Campus. In the Division of Radiological Sciences, we aim to have students become highly specialized professionals armed with the flexibility to handle advanced and diversified technologies and armed with highly specialized knowledge and abilities that can be put into practice by those individuals. We are also aiming to train educators and researchers armed with superior research and development abilities along with a rich sense of creativity. At the Division of Nursing of Nursing, we aim to have students acquire backgrounds as researchers able to scientifically analyze phenomena related to nursing science and become highly specialized professionals able to contribute to the building of comprehensive care systems as a key persons serving to connect health, medical care, and welfare through multidisciplinary collaboration.

Message from the Dean

With the rapid progress of medical care taking place, we are seeing major changes being undergone not only in terms of the contents of medical care but also in terms of the medical care provision system and the environment surrounding medical care. Modern medical care is centered on Team Medical Care conducted by multiple medical professionals with high expertise. Each member of a team is required to have advanced knowledge and practical abilities. To go one step further, there is also a need for talent armed with the ability to solve practical problems in response to advances seen in medicine and changes seen in medical care. In other words, when it comes to clinical practice, there is a need for people who strive to improve their abilities to manage and who have a wide range of knowledge and skills which go beyond what is acquired during undergraduate education. The Graduate School of Health Sciences on the Fukuoka Campus aims to train educators and researchers, as well as professionals with a constant interest in the changes of the times, who strive to acquire more knowledge and improve their practical abilities through research in their majors. We awaiting those who seek to acquire advanced specialized knowledge and practical abilities, as well as those who are aiming to be educators and researchers in the future.
