On Tuesday, July 23, 2024, the 37th Advanced Technology Award Ceremony for Pioneering Creativity was held at the Meiji Memorial Hall (Minato-ku, Tokyo) in the presence of Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado, and Ryosuke Miura (4th year, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences), a student at our university, was awarded a special prize.
Based on advice from the late Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry, Kenichi Fukui, the awards program aims to foster the creativity of young researchers active in cutting-edge technology fields and to help realize a nation founded on the creativity of science and technology. It is sponsored by The Sankei Shimbun, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Fuji Television Network, and Nippon Broadcasting System.

While the established rules for the electron configuration of elements are widely recognized, Mr. Miura derived the regularity of the electron configuration from a new perspective that had never been seen before, and won the award for his work on the topic of "Regularity of the electron configuration of transition elements." We look forward to Mr. Miura's future achievements.
